Chris and Colin Shaw
Dynamic twin guitar spearhead of Strange Brew a local classic rock band currently gaining a reputation on the Scottish Rock Circuit. Band also features Peebles answer to Paul Rodgers: Chris Barnet. Recent sell out concert with No Dice further enhanced reputation.
Tommy Ashby
Currently studying guitar/music at the University of Surrey. Tommy gained grade 8 distinction and is currently working on improving even further and writing his own material. Often guests with his dad Seoras’ band Blue to the Bone who are well known on the Scottish Blues Circuit.
Kenneth Jeffrey
Another grade 8 distinction pupil currently studying in Glasgow. Kenny is a former member of the mighty Rock Goblet and specialises in metal and blues and plays a mean blues harp on occasion.
Ewan Wilkinson
Ewan works in traditional music along with accordion guru Sandy Brechin. Known as the Voice of the Borders, Ewan often uses DADGAD tuning and has played extensively in Scotland and also abroad with Sandy. The pair have also featured live on radio with their songs and tunes. Debut CD It Never Snows features the beautiful ballad “Both Sides of the Tweed”. Brechin all Records a new CD is to be released shortly.
Rob Howell
Rob has developed into an excellent singer songwriter and is gaining a reputation locally and beyond with his subtle acoustic playing and clever songs. Debut CD is the Peebles Sessions Unplugged. Rob has recorded live radio sessions and is now concentrating full time on his music. The Road to Skye is my favourite Rob track. Further Rob releases due shortly.
Peter Lewin
Peter is a former member of Rock Goblet and Idle Machine. A very talented guitarist and budding singer. Peter is currently concentrating on acoustic guitar and songwriting following his win at the Innerleithen Music Festival Songwriting Competition with vocalist Lauren Knox. Peter is working towards a full time music career. His Debut CD With You is available from the Eastgate Theatre Peebles.
